Day 1 Arrival in Paro – Thimphu

Day 1     Arrival in Paro – Paro

After Landing the Land of Happiness, you will be received by Bhutan Travel Organiser staff and transfer to Paro. Upon arrival we will check into the hotel, after lunch we will visit Kichu Lhakhang, one from the 2 oldest Buddhist temple in the country, Paro Dzong (Fortress), and National Museum. Overnight in Paro.

Day 2 Haa Excursion (6 hrs).

Early morning drive for the isolated valley of Haa through Chelala Pass 3988mtrs, one of the highest motorable roads of Bhutan. If the weather permits, one can view the highest peak of Bhutan, Mt. Jumolhari. Visit Haa Dzong, Picnic lunch and evening explore the little town of Haa and drive back to Paro. Overnight in Paro.

Day 3     Paro to Bumthang (Fly out)

Check out from the hotel and transfer to the Paro airport for our flight to Jakar. The flight is considered to offer best Mountain View flight in Bhutan before landing in most religious and sacred valley of Bumthang. On arrival you will be received by Bhutan Travel Organiser team and transfer to your hotel. Check into your hotel and relax. Evening we will explore Jakar town. Overnight in Jakar, altitude 2650m

Day 4 Bumthang Sight seeing with cycling group

9:00 AM Gather at Chamkhar bus parking

9:45 AM – 12:30 PM Make a short excursion to Jambey Lhakhang and Kurje Lhakhang, followed by a short ride to Mebar Tsho and back.

1:00 PM Lunch at respective hotel

3:00-5:00 PM Riders briefing and an audience with HRH Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck , . Overnight in Jakar, altitude 2650m.

Day 5 Bumthang to Thimphu (Cycling)

12:00 AM Wake-up call

1:00 AM Report to start area, biking inspection and light breakfast for participants

2:00 AM RACE START (Flag off by Dasho Dzongdag)

3:00 AM Every rider is expected to cross Kiki La

7:30 AM Riders should cross Tshangkha by this time

9:00 AM Reach Chendepji

11:00 AM Reach Pele La

1:30 PM Riders should cross Wangdue check post

6:00 PM Final cut-off time at Dochula Pass. If you make it to Dochula by 6:00 PM you are allowed to continue to the finish line.

7:00 PM Awards ceremony at the Clock Tower Square, Thimphu. Overnight in Thimphu, Altitude 2400m.

Day 6     Thimphu sightseeing

Visit National Memorial Chorten, stupa built in the memory of late 3rd king. Buddha point, Further we will proceed to visit National Textile Museum, Zhorig Chusum, school where 13 different arts are practiced and learnt. We will also hop into nearby Folk Heritage Museum. Takin’s mini zoo and weaving centre, school of nuns and Thimphu fort. Evening visit weekend market to see the Bhutanese local vegetable and fruits. We will also visit changlimithang stadium to witness the traditional game of Bhutan archery. ,. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 7 Thimphu to Punakha (2.5 hrs)

Morning after an early breakfast, you will check out and drive towards Punakha (70 km – 2.5 hours drive) via Dochula pass. You can get stunning views of the Himalayan ranges. Located at an altitude of 3150 meter above sea level, the Dochu La Pass is about 30 km. Away from the capital city. Chimmi Lhakhang. The Chimi Lhakang temple houses a number of wooden phalluses that the Lama had brought with him from Tibet. Pilgrims who visit the monastery receive the blessing by being struck on the head with a ten inch wooden Phallus (erect penis). The symbol of an erect penis is said to ward off evil. The monastery is also known as the temple of fertility and is visited not only by the Bhutanese but women from countries as far as Japan and United States to receive a special blessing that can help them to conceive baby. These women receive the blessing by getting struck on the head with a 10 inch wooden/ ivory phallus. Lunch at a local restaurant. Also visit The Punakha Dzhong or the Pungtang Dechen Phortang Dzhong. The Punakha Dzhong is the second largest and the second oldest Dzhong in Bhutan. Punakha Dzong has played an important role in Bhutan’s history and still winter resident for religious leader. Check in at the hotel. Dinner and Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8    Punakha to Paro (4hrs)

After your B/fast drive to north valley of Punakha to hike Khansum Yulley Namgyal Chorten . It was built by the Queen Mother for heading off the negative forces and transportation peace and harmony for all the living beings.( 40-1hrs hike). After returning back go for Female /Male River rafting and River side lunch. After lunch drive tio Paro via Dochula and Thimphu. Overnight in Paro, altitude 2200m.

Day 9 Tiger Nest Hike (4hrs hike)

Morning after the breakfast, we will take awesome hike Bhutan’s most revered monuments, the Taktshang Goemba, more commonly referred to as the “Tiger’s Nest”. The four-hour trek offers spectacular views of this sacred monastery perched on vertical cliff surface at 900m above the valley floor. After lunch, we will visit Drugyel Dzong. Overnight in Paro, altitude 2200m.

Day 10   Departure.

The tour will end today. After the breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight. Carry smile on your face, eyes with tears and memories unlimited. Tour staffs will bid you farewell at the airport departure gate with the quick prayer of save journey and to see you again in future.
